My group's chapter was "Modern Life in the Univernacular".  The chapter itself didn't go in depth on my "theme" but it did hint at it.  Is there a line between True Design (ART - I think. https://oncourse.iu.edu/library/editor/FCKeditor/editor/images/smiley/msn/confused_smile.gif Too many people are trying to define this word when it should remain undefined.) and Univacular Design (basically commercial design that is altered to fit status quo)?

When you think about it, both designs are answers to perception questions.  When a person makes "ART" he is "limiting" his art to his own mental preferences.  When a person designs commercially, they are limiting the design to another person's preferences.  Can a line be drawn? Of course, but that doesn't mean it really exists.  We each draw the lines we want the way we want and pretend to see them however long we want.  The lines, the choices, the designs themselves are only puzzle pieces.  They are important, but they don't compare to the seeing the big picture.
Hopefully, my design makes people think - that's more than I could ever ask for.
