HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAMS
The current programming efforts in progress are:
- The Healthy Start Initiative (Infant Mortality)
- Stamp Out Syphilis Project (Syphilis)
- Minority Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Initiative (Cancer)
- Gear-Up (School-Based Health Ed.)
- Treatment Plus (Substance Abuse)
- L.E.A.P.P. (Pregnancy Prevention)

The MHCMC has dedicated it’s time and effort to the community by implementing these programs that focus on the leading causes of death and other health conditions for minorities’ in Marion County.
The intent of our prevention programs is to educate individuals who are at risk for developing or contracting these conditions and empower them to make lifestyle choices that are conducive to their health.
