The Oxford English Dictionary defines one-dimensional
as having, or pertaining to, a single dimension... An example
of a one-dimensional object would be a line that extends
in only one direction. True one-dimensionality cannot be
represented visually, but a good way to try to visualize
the concept is to picture a line. It starts at a point in
space and extends infinitely in one direction.
